International Lighthouse Weekend is on again!
21st & 22nd August 2010

International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend is an
annual celebration aimed at raising the profile of lighthouses and lightships across the world.

Celebrate with us by going on a $5 tour of Split Point Lighthouse, Aireys Inlet!

All proceeds are going towards the Lorne-Aireys P-12 Production 2010

Join us on a FREE Canoe Discovery Paddle (Sat or Sun) with some special surprises along the way (bookings essential as places are limited)

At the Aireys Community Hall the great Skip Jack Theatre will be performing"The Secret Lives of Eels" (booking fee of $5 per family or $2 per person is required to be paid at your school reception)

At the Lighthouse pick up a copy of our Lighthouse Challenge and explore the area with you
family and friends, finishing with a FREE Lighthouse Tour

Decipher the signal flags flying from the top of the lighthouse

On the Saturday visit the Amateur Radio Society based at the bottom of the Lighthouse and get a chance to check in on another lighthouse, perhaps even an international one……
 
It is a weekend for sharing stories about lighthouses, enjoying their splendor and promoting the need to preserve their structure and history. Don the beanie and scarf ready to find out more about the history and culture of this wonderful area on this fantastic weekend.
